lops & meadow is a work in progress, and we're glad to see you here. do take a look and let us know what rocks and what socks, cause we're hoping to learn from you too. we hope to create floral designs that are a little different from what is being offered right now: good flowers with a personal touch. we provide floral arrangements from hand bouquets to daisies in a teacup (and then some), so stick around and see what we can come up with.

The Flowers

We have carefully selected something green, something red and something sparkling in this arrangement - red roses paired with eucalyptus leaves (which have a refreshing scent, often steam distilled for use in sweets and decongestants) and pearl-like beads. Instead of the cardboard box shown in the poster, we have chosen a beautifully crafted box made of poplar wood as shown below.

You can also purchase the flowers without the gift at 60sgd excluding delivery or choose from other Christmas selections below.

The Card

Nothing quite beats a few heart-felt words you would like to say to your loved ones. Thus, we have specially designed and hand-stitched this Christmas card where your greetings will become a timeless keepsake. With a cream coloured cross stitch Christmas tree design and a pearl-like bead as star, this card exudes the good old traditional festive feel of Christmas. It has a camel brown outer, festive cinnamon red inner and comes with a matching red envelope. As it is hand-made, quantities are limited and you will never find it elsewhere. Cards have to be ordered 3 days in advance and cost 10sgd each.

3. My Mistress’s Sparrow Is Dead: Great Love Stories, from Chekhov to Munro is an anthology of love stories edited by Jeffrey Eugenides. The title comes from Catullus’s poems on Lesbia and her beloved pet sparrow that she loved more than her lover, even after its death. Expect stories by Anton Chekhov, James Joyce, Milan Kundera, Vladimir Nabokov, Miranda July, Alice Munro and many others. Spanning across hundreds of years and numerous cultures, these stories are still relevant today and I am sure you would recognise many of them in your life. A personal favourite of Han, it has proven to be a great read. We highly recommend you to present this to a lover who enjoys thought-provoking short stories.

4. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is a classic novel about the stingy Ebenezer Scrooge who was transformed after being visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. This book was an influential work which rejuvenated the Christmas traditions in England at that time. I am sure many of you have watched the cartoon version when you were younger or even watched the movie adaptation but nothing beats reading it. This book brought as great joy and warmth as well as lots of nostalgia. So this Christmas give a gift that will remind your loved ones of old traditions and the merry festivity of Christmas.
