we've had a good run, and it is with regret and sadness that we can no longer find the time and commitment to upkeep this business, as our day jobs get the better of us.

lops & meadow had a truly memorable and fulfilling (albeit impossibly hot - wasn't it?) saturday afternoon last week, where we put together a solemnization wedding dinner for a lovely couple at the vineyard, a beautiful restaurant nestled in the green which is hort park.
the adventurous couple chose alice in wonderland as the theme of their wedding, and we understood that flowers alone would not be enough to create the atmosphere for the whimsical world of lewis carroll. that much said, we'll let the photos do the rest of the talking. click on the photos to get a better look! red is the color of the day as it evokes a strong image of the red queen. constantly drawing familiar references from the novel, cartoon and movie, special attention was paid to details such as bouquet ribbons and button holes.

replacing the common button hole with those handmade from poker cards, the vips are intimately tied to the night's theme and have their very own keepsake! (:
the dining tables were decked out to resemble the mad hatter's tea party. featuring items such as tea cups filled with flowers and tied with little tags that said 'drink me', one is instantly transported into the world of wild merrymaking.

setting the mood right as dinner guests arrive, the reception table was decorated with teapots of pink roses and purple aster, as well as little props such as a garden rabbit, books and cake stand - a sight signifying the start of a wonderful (late night) tea party.

the solemnization was held at possibly the most breathtaking place in hort park - the outdoor patio overlooking an infinity pool. set against this beautiful backdrop, the solemnization table was simply decorated with gerberas and purple asters for the chairs, and a cake stand planted with grass, moss and succulents for the ring pillow.

Happy Mothers' Day to all Mothers (and mothers-to-be)! As we celebrate our precious loved one, here's some arrangements we've done over the weekend. (:
We've been busy with weddings and haven't had the time for much bouquets, but we're glad we could squeeze some time out to work on these arrangements. Hope their moms like it!

The weather has been most unforgiving lately, but that did nothing to dampen our spirits as we worked on a small church wedding yesterday. It was held at the Church of Immaculate Heart of Mary, and consisted of decorations for a small reception table, some pews and a basket of flowers for the consecration of Mother Mary.

Some of you might notice that we've been awfully quiet though Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Truth is, Cait and I have been really caught up in our day jobs, and agreed that it's best to let this Valentine's Day slip. lops & meadow will be on hiatus till 1 March 2012, and we hope to come back with renewed energies and your continued support.
And although we're giving this Valentine's Day a miss, we did manage to provide flowers for a lovely wedding held at the esplanade:
The Reception Table
The flowers are arranged in glass bottles of varying shapes and sizes,
like they were freshly cut from the garden.
As both bride and groom are teachers, the chalk board was a fitting addition! 
The Solemnization Table

christmas in singapore doesn't get whiter and colder than styrofoam penguins and an instant ice-skating rink (cue novena square), but still it's a pretty nice try. although it's wet and warm where we are, there's no saying we can't make an arrangement that evokes the cold, clean feel of christmas morning.
